Travel to De Panne in Belgium

Relax on one of De Pannes' beautiful beaches

When you think of De Panne you might well conjure up images of beautiful, clean beaches stretching as far as the horizon or brilliant green nature reserves. These are the two things that De Panne is most well known for and if you have the opportunity to visit this little piece of paradise you'll quickly find out that it's a reputation that is well deserved.

De Panne, Belgium, is a municipality in West Flanders which comprises of the towns of Adinkerke and De Panne proper. While the towns have a small population and a wonderful sense of charm, it is the reputation of 'widest beach on the Flemish Coast' which has brought so many people to this idyllic holiday spot. People of all ages come here each year to enjoy the friendly bathing resort where there is an incredibly sense of harmony between sea, beach and dune. The flowers come into bloom late here which give the region an extra special glow when other parts of the country have already started to take on a gloomy autumn appearance. Scattered around the area you will find many great hotels, camping sites, holiday villages and restaurants. The food will leave you with the most wonderful tasty memories and you'll soon find yourself in love with this delightful corner of Flanders. And with miles upon miles of brilliant dunes and beaches, you can be sure that you will find a small piece of beach all to yourself if you so desire. And if you're traveling with a loved one, dating in De Panne is quite a popular option as far as holiday romances are concerned.

If you're bringing the kids with you, Plopsaland should not be missed. The theme park is aimed at young children and provides them with hours of entertainment. The beach is also great for kids as it does not have any break-water. If you're a little older and are active, there are many great sporting opportunities to be enjoyed. De Panne is the home of 'sand yachts' which were first built and used here in 1898. Powered by the sea-breeze, the sailing cars will take you to extraordinary speeds as you skirt the edges of the sea. De Panne also enjoys a host of non-stop attractions during the holiday season such as folklore exhibitions, band and jazz concerts, processions and fireworks. There is a dress-ball, a military Tattoo, an artist's day and even a sand yachting contest, among other things. Book your accommodation at a De Panne hotel now to make sure you don't miss out on one of Belgium's most fantastic holiday spots!
