Hmm there are soooo many good belgian beers! I think for every situation or mood there is one that serves you better..

I personally like CHIMAY Blue very much, but just one glass

in the summer on a terrasse there is just nothing like a Hoegaarden

Oer Bier must be one of the BEST belgian microbrewed beers!

Hello people!,

I'm a mexican beer fan and I'm glad to learn something more about foreigners beers. Here we have several kinds of national beers, all of them are not too heavy but I need to clarify something "they're a great taste beers".
I'll like to try some Belgium beers in the feature. Thanks for your tips.
By the way, please forgive me by my english, I'm working on to improve it.

Saludos

Oer beer? I don’t know it. From what region is it? http://www.drinkgoodstuff.com/menu_f...ed_germany.htm
This are not all Belgian beers, there must be about 300, it gives an idea.

I prefer Duvel. The strongest beer that I drank was Rochefort 10: 12%, it’s very tasty but don’t try to drink more then 2 if you’re not Belgian .
Hoegaarden is too acid for me.

Ah yes, Duvel is quite a tasty little fellow.
Did any of you ever try Delirium Tremens ? It was chosen a few years ago as the best beer in the world.

STELLA ARTOIS

So do you guys prefer Stella Artois? I see someone here likes Chimay, from my understadning is a monastic or "abbey" brew. How about glasses- any preferences?

I'm really a first timer- never had a belgian beer (sacriledge you say?) before. More of a wine fan.

I also hear that Czech beer is particularly good- budweiser uses a yeast culture taken from Czech Republic ages ago, and the name Budweiser is a Czech name itself. Perhaps under the communists, the beer was hoarded to the elite, and never was shared to the masses, thus the decline in popular sentiment.

Stella Artois, Budweiser, Maes etc. are mass produced, the fast food of the beers. Duvel, Trappist, Chimay are artisanal, 2 - 4 times stronger and much tastier. The fermentation is done in two times. I think the strongest had about 12% alcohol (in USA it is 24°). According my doctor they are much healtier.

PRESCRIPTION FOR FUN

Wow... a doctor that would recommend getting plastered. Sounds interesting.

Yes I know Bud is mass produced, I was just making a small point that it was so darn tasty way back in the day it was imported from Czechland.

Okay, so Stella isn't so hot. Is there a type of beer that consistently takes the beer and wins awards and critical praise every year?

Alcohol is healty in small quantities as one beer or a small glass of whiskey/wodka to go to bed.

Win and award? I would not know about a contest, it seems difficult to me to taste 400 - 500 different beers.
Now there is something new: champagne beer that is kept in champagne like bottles, price will be somewhat prohibitive: 6 - 8 US$ for 1 bottle. I forgot the name.

Is it true that in Germany people take a bath in beer ?
It is suppose to also be good for the skin and the hair.
