I have been looking for a gallette iron. I would like the kind you hold over the stove. I was told they are also called stroopwafel. Is this correct? I can only find the electrice kind. Can anyone help? Thanks!

I think I know what you are talking about.

Does this item have interchangeable waffle irons -- so that you can make waffles in various patterns? I have one of these at home. I got mine in Solvang, California. The recipe for the batter looks to be the same as well.

The one my grandmother has doesn't have interchangeable irons but it is very old. Maybe the newer ones do. Do you know the name of the store? I do not live anywhere near CA.

I do know the name of the store.

It's Rasmussen's on Copenhaven Drive in Solvang, California Their number is (805) 688-6636.

I called them just now and they do have them in stock. But they are known as Rosettes. You take the handle and you screw on whatever form of waffle shape you want, dip it into the batter and then put it in some hot oil. It makes a waffle.

They do ship outside the United States.

Hope this is what you are looking for. I wish you luck!

Strong like mine!!!!!!

He mentioned one (the galette iron, not grandma) that he could put directly on the stove and those are really heavy. The ones you found don't look like the ones I saw.

That's the same kind of iron I'm looking for. The big heavy cast iron ones. My mother found a couple of electric ones. It would be easier. hehe. But I would like to have an orginal one.
Show my kids what we had to do at holidays when we were little.
