Here goes
The name Claerhout is derived from the name of a town (Claerhout).
I tried to look it up but it does no longer exist and i think it has seized to exist some time ago. The best i could find was that in 1576, one of your ancestors (presumably) was the baron of Maldegem (another region in Belgium) and that he accompagnied the duke of Parma on his attacks into France as head of the cavalry. What i know for sure is that you my friend are a Belgian from descent and i hope you are proud of it. See ya, try and look into further with the info i have given you. |
