Iquitos is a unique city, situated in the magnificent rainforest of Peru. Picturesquely surrounded by the Amazon, Nanay and Itaya rivers, Iquitos has been an important port for the Amazon Basin. Belénis is a section of Iquitos that can be reached only by boat in the wet season and by foot during the dry season. Here you will find an open-air market. Along medicine lane you will find a variety of traditional plant medicines.
